Navigating the 24/25 FAFSA changes: What Students and Families Need to Know
The 2024-25 FAFSA process introduces significant changes designed to simplify the application and expand access to federal student aid. Key updates include a streamlined form reduced from 108 to 36 questions, expanded Pell Grant eligibility for low-income students, and changes in income reporting rules. Additionally, the student aid index can now be negative, providing more accurate assessments of financial need. The form will be available by December 31, 2023, instead of October 1.
